Captain Jak’s is proud to be a Gold Standard Tour Operator, as approved by the Belize Tourism Board. As a Gold Standard Tour Operator, we follow strict guidelines to protect both you and our employees from COVID-19 exposure. Further details can be found in our Health & Safety Plan and any questions can be directed to our Program Manager.
Please arrive 15 – 20 minutes prior to scheduled departure. If your departure is from your place of lodging, please be prepared to leave 15 – 20 minutes prior to your scheduled time. We cannot be held responsible for tours missed or incomplete due to late arrivals.
Minimum Number Required
Each tour or activity has a minimum number of guests required to book. If your party is less than the minimum number required to confirm the tour, you will be allowed to make a tentative reservation. We will contact you 24 hours prior to the scheduled start date to confirm or attempt to reschedule your activity.
Dates and Availability of Activities Not Guaranteed
While we make every effort to ensure tours are held on the date requested, a variety of factors may require a change. Circumstances including, but not included to, weather and availability of guides and/or resources may impact the date requested. If the availability of your date changes, we will contact you as soon as possible and your tour will be rescheduled to a new date. If rescheduling is not an option, you may be offered credit towards another tour or a refund of any deposit paid.
Weather Advisories / Partial Tours
Sometimes weather conditions may make a tour permissible but not advisable. If we advise that your tour may not be completed due to pending weather, we will offer to reschedule to another day or suggest an alternative activity. If you elect to begin the tour, no refund or exchange will be made available if the tour is unable to be completed due to weather or conditions of nature.
Cancellation by Us
We reserve the right to cancel any tour prior to departure date for any reason including, but not limited to, insufficient number of participants, weather, or unavailability of equipment or guides. If that happens, we may offer an alternate date or activity of equal value. If you choose not to accept the alternatives, all refunds will be made accordingly and without further obligations. We shall not be held liability for any contingent costs incurred by you arising from the cancellation. You will receive a refund within 45 days following the scheduled departure date. We will not be liable for any claims, losses, damages, or costs sustained by you.
Prices quoted are in USD and do not include GST of 12.5%.
Cancellation by You
We understand that your plans may change. If you need to modify or cancel your tour, golf cart reservation, or lodging, please contact us as soon as possible. Should you need to cancel or reschedule a tour, we will first attempt to reschedule your tour to a different day. If that is not an option, we may offer alternative tours. If you contact us after the scheduled start of your tour or do not show up for your scheduled tour, no refund is available. If you cancel and do not replace the tour, golf cart reservation, or lodging reservation, a refund (less any fees) shall be offered in accordance with this schedule:
- Notification of 30 days or more prior to your scheduled tour date: full refund of any deposit paid less 10% fee
- Notification of 15 days or more prior to your scheduled tour date: refund of deposit paid less 50% fee
- Notification of 7 days or more prior to your scheduled tour date: refund of deposit paid less 75% fee
- Notification of less than 7 days: no refund available
Reservation agreements shall be interpreted & enforced in accordance with the laws of Belize. By making any reservation, I authorize Captain Jak’s to charge my credit card as scheduled.
